The Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) is one of Canada’s premier junior hockey leagues and a major development pathway for young players across Southern Ontario. Formerly known as the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL), the league transitioned to the GOHL name in 2025 and became the official development league of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

The GOHL features 24 teams split between Eastern and Western Conferences for the 2026–27 season. Teams play a 50-game regular-season schedule before competing for one of Ontario junior hockey’s most historic championships: the Sutherland Cup.

With a strong history of developing players for the OHL and beyond, the GOHL provides a competitive environment focused on high-level hockey, player development and opportunity. The league has produced numerous players who have gone on to major junior, professional and NHL careers, further establishing its reputation as an important pathway for the next generation of hockey talent.
